I read a story on Monday morning that, very simply put, shocked me. It was before I had my coffee and before my brain was fully awake. It was about a satanic school giving high school kids scholarships.
I thought to myself, if these children who are being stolen right before our very eyes knew Jesus and His great love for us, they would never answer a call such as this. It made me pray 2 Corinthians 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of this world…” It made me shout out to God, “Lord please, Lord, don’t let us stop or get weary of proclaiming your word daily. We know as Christians that we have a spiritual enemy who will fight for the souls of those who don't know you. I pray that we as parents don’t let our children fall in the hands of this evil.” 1 Timothy 6:12 says, “Fight the good fight of faith.” This is one of the clearest commands in the Bible. We wrestle against an enemy many refuse to acknowledge who tries to separate us from God. But Jesus has already been to the cross and victory is His.
I know I will try to be a better teacher for my young Sunday school class so when they get older, they will know who their Saviour is. I will always remind them of the importance of wearing their Armour of God (Ephesians 6:11). I pray that they will be the ones praying and interceding for others to be saved by the great sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf, “So don’t be like those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and persevere their souls” (Hebrews 10:39).
All God requires is that our motive is pure, that we are persistent, humble in coming to acknowledge that He is God and can do all things. So I encourage our children and ask God to watch over them. And to allow their hearts to trust in Him for their ultimate protection (Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 43:2).
Let us also pray for those who don’t know the great blessing the Savior has for all who don’t know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Everything happens by faith, therefore let us all stand on our God given authority and come to Him in boldness and confidence that He is able to do all things because He is a Sovereign God (Hebrews 4:16). I take great comfort in Romans 8: 35-39 and wish the same for you.
